ABOUT MARIA
Maria has taught, written, and lectured about the history of art from pre-history to the present, with particular expertise in the art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. She earned her M.A. at Williams College (Williamstown, MA) and her Ph.D in the history of art at the University of Texas at Austin. She has 17 years teaching experience at institutions that include the George Washington University (Washington, D.C.); and the Extension Program of the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was named 2008 Outstanding Instructor of the Year for the Visual Arts division. She has worked in the collections of the Norton Simon Museum (Pasadena), the Williams College Museum of Art, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venice, Italy).
